5 Top Leadership Books for Women

I’m often asked what I believe the best books on leadership for women are. So, to answer everyone’s question, I have compiled a list of what I believe to be the 5 top leadership books for women. I hope this list helps and that you enjoy reading the selections I have made.


The 10 Laws of Enduring Success by Maria Bartiromo

I really enjoyed reading this particular book. Ms. Bartiromo explains the importance of identifying what really matters in your life through the 10 laws that she has designed. She takes her personal and business experiences, plus the knowledge that she has gained and helps readers define their life purpose. This book is a great way to define what you want and what you need to do to achieve it.

No Excuse Leadership Tactics for Women by Angie Morgan and Courtney Lynch

This is a great book for women who are trying to improve their leadership skills. The authors provide the reader with a list of ten principles which will help improve their overall leadership style.


Lean In AMLean In by Sheryl Sandberg

This is a great book that shows women how important it is to challenge the assumption that men still run the world. She delves into the importance of men sharing the family workload, rather than making women choose between their careers and their family. Men aren’t forced to make that choice, so why do women have to. This book also demonstrates that women have the ability to succeed in business; they just need to develop the proper skills needed to overcome many of the obstacles that often stand in their way.

The Well-Spoken Woman: Your Guide to Looking and Sounding Your Best by Christine K. Jahnke

This book provides women with the proper exercises, and information to help them overcome their fears and become an effective speaker. If you struggle with public speaking, or simply speaking up when needed, this book can be highly beneficial for you.

Women Don’t Ask AMWomen Don’t Ask by Linda Babcock and Sara Laschever

This book teaches women that it’s acceptable to ask for what they want in business. If you have any trouble negotiating or simply asking for what you want, this book can be highly beneficial to you. This book will also open your eyes about the differences in pay that still exist between men and women.

As part of my personal development regime I schedule in time to read at least one book per month that will help me grow personally and professionally.
